The Road Of The Four Saxon Churches

From May to October the region of Sighisoara becomes a top destination for riding. The horse passionate will find The Cross-Country Farm (http://cross-country.ro/), while for the cyclists we have The Four Saxon Churches Road. Cycling Romania invites you to a relaxing bike trip through Tarnavele Plateau, in the middle of Transylvania. We will discover four wonderful fortified churches: Valchid, Copsa Mare, Saros pe Tarnave and Biertan (UNESCO). 

A perfect bike trail at the edge of the forest 
The route is addressed to all nature and beauty lovers. Even the beginners are welcome to join, since the road requires minimum physical effort. The trip is suitable for one day, up to your choice.


What will we do:
We will admire the peaceful hilly area around Sighisoara, we will go through beautiful oak forests, we will visit authentic Saxon villages, we will talk to the wise local elders, we will assist the ancient crafts well kept during the time, we will smile, take photos, relax and find friends. 


What shall we take with us:
- Helmet
- Rain coat in case we have cloudy sky
- Sun cream if sunny weather
- A small backpack
- Joie de vivre mood
Medieval Saxon Church
Details:
- Distance: 45 km (7 hours approximately)
- Difficulty level: easy
- Terrain type: asphalt, dirt road
- Date: pick one of the days from May to October
- Start point: Prod village, in front of Cross-Country Horse Farm
- Start time: 11:00
- Price / person: 30 EUR for bike rental, guiding, technical assistance, activities and visits (we will talk to the baker of the village, the skilful barrel maker or the wise weaver), water supply, delicious sandwich for lunch, energizers, or 20 EUR in case you bring your own bike
The group size limit is 10 persons
